For real, it's May???
As predicted April passed by in a whirl of birthdays, birding, and, luckily, melting snow in Mimi and Pop's backyard! Tonight found us at Young Author's Night (or Little Author's Night, as Jason kept calling it) at A and J's school. All of the first graders read books they had written - like My Trip to Vermont, My Kittens, My Video Games - and then there were J and A's. J wrote about a battle between a big horned sheep and an eagle with a line that said, "So, you see that the eagles got 20% of the meat and the pumas got 80% of the meat. Now you know why it made sense that the pumas got the majority of the meat." Yeah. So the other parents were wondering, "Who is this kid??? and when is he going to stop reading his 41 page book????" Then Ali read and her story involved several Webkinz characters helping each other survive in a mine. Not 41 pages but quite involved. Fun times for everyone - but the kids liked the trip to the book fair the best.
A and J had an amazing trip to Hilton Head with Mimi and Pops and Uncle Jim and Aunt Ann. Photos will follow - but I'm pretty sure no one slept between the tennis lessons, ocean swimming, bike riding, dinner parties, cocktail (?) parties and trips to the Salty Dog, there was not a lot of sitting around.
May promises to bring more hikes, letterboxes and a trip from Bubbie for the camp auction with a side dish of more blog entries.
